Many corporations and agencies visit the Carlson School to recruit undergraduate and Master of Arts in HRIR students for management and labor relations positions in the public and private sectors. Previous to the economic downturn in 2008, our full-time MA-HRIR placement rate has been over 90% for students with permanent work authorization. In 2009, the average starting salary was $71,930.
In 2009, the internship placement rate for MA-HRIR students was 90% for those with permanent work authorization, and 35% for international students without permanent work authorization. The average pay for internships was $26.30/hour. Both the internship and permanent opportunities are truly national in scope with positions from New York to California, Minnesota to Texas, and many places in between.
