Transfer admission to the Carlson School is competitive, and we encourage prospective students to start preparing early. Applicants for transfer admission are accepted at both the sophomore and junior level.
Applications are accepted for fall admission only. The application deadline is March 1. An application will be reviewed only if all application materials are postmarked by the March 1 deadline.
Admission decisions are sent on a rolling basis, with all candidates receiving a decision no later than June 1.
To be considered for admission, students should meet the following criteria:
Very strong preference is given to applicants who have completed or will complete all tool courses by the end of spring semester 2013.
Transfer admission is based on a holistic review of the applicant's background and accomplishments as presented in the application materials. Students admitted to the program have an average collegiate GPA of 3.71, strong extracurricular and leadership activities, and exceptional writing skills.

PLEASE NOTE: While high school academic performance will not be utilizaed as an admission factor for junior-level applicants, ALL applicants from outside the University of MN must turn in a high school transcript. The high school transcript (or GED) is needed to determine: proof of graduation; whether you have completed the high school preparation requirements; and whether you have met all of the prerequisiites for admission to your college of choice. Exception: students who have previously completed an A.A. degree or bachelor's degree do not need to submit a high school transcript.

Submit ALL application materials to a Onestop Service Center. ALL application materials must be postmarked by the March 1st application deadline for your application to be considered.

Submit ALL application materials to the University of Minnesota Office of Admissions, 240 Williamson Hall, 231 Pillsbury Drive SE, Minneapolis, MN 55455. ALL application materials must be postmarked by the March 1st application deadline to be considered.

The Immersion Core includes courses in strategy, marketing, finance, and operations and will be taken together as part of a 12-credit cohort taken during one semester.
