2010 Parent Dinner

Nearly 230 parents of Carlson School freshman attended Parent Dinner at the Carlson School on October 8. Now in its fourth year, the free event is designed to welcome parents into the Carlson School community.

"This event is unique to the Carlson School, "says Linda Millington, freshman coordinator. "When kids go off to college, parents oftentimes feel a certain disconnect as to what is going on at the school and in their child's lives. This event gives parents the opportunity to meet various school representatives, get any questions answered they might have, and learn more about all that is happening at the school. It's a very enjoyable evening for the parents, as well as those attending from the school."

This year's keynote speaker was Nathan Dungan, president and founder of Share Save Spend, a nonprofit organization that helps youth and adults maintain healthy financial habits. In his address, Dungan shared insight on who is shaping the money habits and values of today's college students, as well as successful strategies for helping stay on track.
