Norway holds the top international ranking in the human development index, with an abundance of key natural resources. Traditionally focused on sea transport and shipping, industries have expanded to include petroleum, hydropower and advanced information technology innovations. The capital of Oslo is devoutly international with more than 20% of the population foreign born. Much of the wide reaching city is covered in protected forest and as one strolls down the pedestrian shopping streets they are only moments away from isolated wilderness. Situated at the very tip of Oslofjord, the city is surrounded by more than 1,000 kilometers of downhill and cross-country ski trails in every direction.

BI is one of Norway's largest institutions, and with 60% market share of business and industry education, it is the largest single provider of applied business knowledge in the country. To be eligible for this education abroad program, you must be:

• A current student enrolled in a Carlson School Part-Time MBA or MA-HRIR program
• In good academic standing with a minimum GPA of 3.0
• Additional criteria may apply

Students in the program receive up to 14 S/N Carlson School International Business (IBUS 5300) credits for their semester in Norway. Students will need to complete a total of 30 ECTS credits (5 classes) at BI in order to confer the credits.

BI will assist you in finding housing close to campus. There are 2 primary options available: Kringsja, 20 minutes from campus by train, or close to campus and somewhat more expensive is BN, a newer building with modern amenities similar to on-campus apartments at the University of Minnesota.

These may vary based on student preference and exchange rate. All details subject to change based on economic and international factors.

Financial Aid may be applied to study abroad programs.

Application materials include the online application form, a resume, and essay. Submit a completed application by the February 28th priority deadline prior to the academic year in which you wish to participate. Programs that do not fill following the priority deadline will be reviewed on a rolling-admissions basis.

Admission to all programs is based on review of your application by the study abroad selection committee. Applications will be reviewed following the deadline and you will be notified of your status by official letter in April. Once selected, you will be asked to pay a $500 deposit in order to confirm your place in the program.
